The Master’s program equips physicians, surgeons, and dentists with interdisciplinary expertise in medical-aesthetic diagnosis and treatment of the face and body, providing the clinical and decision-making skills needed to deliver safe, personalized care focused on patient well-being.
The Master in Advanced Aesthetic Medicine is a two-year, English-taught program designed to deliver high-level, ethical, and practical training in medical-aesthetic therapies for graduates in Medicine, Surgery, and Dentistry.
With a strong international focus, the program prepares professionals to practice at an advanced global standard through a structured academic path including annual exams and a final thesis.

4 PHARMACOTHERAPY AND PHYTOTHERAPY APPLIED TO AESTHETIC MEDICINE

The use of drugs in aesthetic medicine focuses mainly on outpatient, minimally invasive, or
adjuvant treatments that may involve botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid-based fillers or other
compounds, chemical peels, systemic drugs such as retinoids, antibiotics, and corticosteroids.
Phytotherapy provides important support, especially as a complementary treatment and in
maintaining results. The program will consider plants with antioxidant and anti-aging
properties, plants with draining and microcirculation properties, plants for cellulite and localized
fat deposits, and plants for dermocosmetics.

skin and skin appendages. The module will cover common skin imperfections, dermatological
conditions of aesthetic interest, the differential diagnosis of the main dermatological conditions,
prevention, and counseling.
6 SCIENCE OF COSMETIC PRODUCTS

The science of cosmetic products applied to aesthetic medicine aims at a multidisciplinary
approach that combines chemistry, biology, technology, and dermatology. The module will
mainly cover advanced formulas (biotechnological extracts, nanoparticles, liposomes),
application technologies (LED, laser, AI, personalization), and scientific evidence.
7 ENDOCRINOLOGY AND DIETETICS

In aesthetic medicine, endocrinology and dietetics are two fundamental areas for understanding
and managing many of the problems that patients present, often related to hormonal
imbalances, metabolism, and nutrition.
For the endocrinology section, the module will consider Hormonal imbalances and skin: acne,
seborrhea, alopecia, hirsutism, discoloration, premature skin aging; The activity of estrogen,
androgens, and progesterone on skin tone, body fat distribution, and hair loss. Thyroid function
imbalances on skin, hair, rapid weight loss, and skin fragility. Menopause and andropause and
aesthetic changes. Polycystic ovary syndrome and aesthetics.
For the dietetics section, the module will consider weight management, anti-aging nutrition,
skin and nutrition, and diseases caused by poor nutrition with aesthetic repercussions. The
relationship between proper nutrition and support for aesthetic treatments will also be analyzed.
8 HYGIENE AND BIOINFORMATICS

Hygiene is a fundamental aspect of aesthetic medicine, both for patient safety and for the safety
of the practitioner. The main aspects covered by the module will concern the working
environment, equipment, practitioner hygiene, and patient hygiene.
Bioinformatics is the application of digital tools, algorithms, and biological databases to analyze
information useful for clinical practice and research. The module will analyze genomics and
cosmetogenomics, skin microbiome analysis, dermatological databases, and aesthetic
telemedicine in detail.
9 AESTHETIC MEDICINE

The module, divided into 10 different teaching units, 5 per year, will analyze all the various
aspects of aesthetic medicine with particular reference to the prevention and treatment of facial
and body imperfections, with the aim of improving the physical appearance, psychological well-
being, and quality of life of the person through the use of minimally invasive or non-invasive
procedures, generally performed on an outpatient basis and with rapid recovery times.
The units will analyze the main areas of aesthetic medicine, the aesthetic medical examination,
facial rejuvenation, body treatments, skin care, hair loss, preventive medicine, and medicine
for cosmetic surgery.
10 PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL METHODS IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE

In aesthetic medicine, physical and chemical methods are used to treat skin imperfections,
improve skin texture, combat aging, and shape tissues.
Physical methods are based on the use of energy or instruments that act directly on the tissues.
The module will analyze laser therapy, intense pulsed light, radiofrequency, focused ultrasound,
cryotherapy, microdermabrasion, needling, and microneedling.
Chemical methods are based on the application of substances that stimulate skin renewal or
reduce fat deposits. The module will analyze chemical peels, mesotherapy, the use of sclerosing
substances, oxygen therapy, and carboxytherapy.
11 ANTI-AGING AND REGENERATIVE MEDICINE

Anti-aging and regenerative medicine is an interdisciplinary field that combines prevention,
early diagnosis, and targeted interventions to combat aging and promote tissue regeneration.
The module will analyze the objectives of anti-aging medicine, which aims to slow down
biological processes, clinical and laboratory evaluation, lifestyles, targeted supplementation,
and balanced hormone therapies if necessary.
The regenerative medicine section will examine the main approaches to stimulating the repair
and regeneration of damaged tissues, including stem cells (mesenchymal, adipose, bone
marrow), growth factors (PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma, platelet derivatives), gene therapies, and
biomaterials.

Admission to the Master’s programme requires one of the following degrees:
Degree in Medicine and Surgery
Degree in Dentistry and/or Dental Prosthetics
Applicants must also:
Be registered with the relevant professional medical or dental register, or an equivalent body for international candidates
Have a sufficient level of English to attend a programme fully taught in English
Possess basic computer skills and access to a computer with broadband internet for e-learning activities
No minimum number of years of professional experience is specified.

Declaration of value issued by the Italian consular authority in the country of study ( accompanied by a transcript of records + copy of the final diploma);
OR
CIMEA Certificate of comparability accompanied by Certificate of verification ( see https://cimea-diplome.it/ );

Duration: 24 months (two academic years)
Total workload: 3,000 hours
Credits: 120 ECTS/CFU (60 per year)
Minimum compulsory attendance: 80% of total programme hours
Lectures and seminars require a three-week full immersion commitment per year.
The programme is organised into interdisciplinary modules and includes:
Classroom lectures
Supervised hands-on practical sessions
Cadaver lab with dissection on fresh anatomical specimens
Internship (350 hours) at C.I.R.M. and accredited facilities
Online synchronous and asynchronous learning (video lectures, seminars, forums)
Each module includes an assessment test, with written and oral exams at the end of each year and a final thesis.
Upon completion, students are awarded a Second-Level University Master Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Medicine:
Official university Master course Diploma with parchment issued by UniCamillus.
